Picckles vs Trade Ideas: Alert Service or Scanning Software?

Trade Ideas and Picckles solve different problems. Trade Ideas is real-time scanning software for active traders: $127 a month for its core plan, or $254 a month for the plan with AI signals, backtesting and auto trading, used during the session to find and make your own trades. Picckles is a done-for-you alert service: $29 a month, rules-based swing trades emailed after the close, with a SELL email to close each one. If you want to day trade or build your own scans, Trade Ideas is the tool. If you want finished trades without watching a screen, that is Picckles.

A tool versus a service

Trade Ideas gives you a powerful machine for finding trades: live scans across the market, alerts as conditions trigger, charts, paper trading, and on its top plan AI signals and automated trading. You still decide what to trade, when to get in, and when to get out. Its value grows with the hours you put in front of it.

Picckles does the deciding. Its rules scan after the close and send a finished trade: this stock, this price, then a SELL email when it is time. You get no scanner to configure and no charts you have to read. Its value is that it needs almost none of your time.

Cost, honestly

Picckles is far cheaper — $348 a year for Swing Trade against $1,068 for Trade Ideas’ core plan billed yearly. But they are not the same purchase. If you are a full-time active trader, a scanner that finds intraday setups may be worth many times its price; if you are not, most of what you are paying for goes unused.

Seeing the record

Because Picckles sends fixed trades, it can publish a record of them: every alert since July 2026 with entry, exit and result, losers included, on the track record page, plus a 25-year backtest labelled separately — 85% of trades won, with 31% a year for Swing Trade and 36% for Swing Elite, backtested. With a scanner, your results are your own decisions, so there is no single record to check.

Who should choose which

  • Trade Ideas if you trade during market hours, want to build and run your own scans, or want to day trade.
  • Picckles if you have a job during market hours and want complete trades decided for you by fixed rules.

Trying Picckles

Picckles’ 30-day trial sends the Swing Elite alerts with no credit card, so nothing is charged when it ends.

Frequently asked questions

Is Trade Ideas an alert service?

Not in the done-for-you sense. Trade Ideas is real-time scanning software that alerts you to setups you then judge and trade yourself. Picckles sends finished trades: a BUY email with the stock and price, and a SELL email to close it.

How much does Trade Ideas cost compared with Picckles?

As listed in October 2026, Trade Ideas is $127 a month for its core plan and $254 a month for the plan with AI signals, or $1,068 and $2,136 a year. Picckles is $29 a month for Swing Trade and $39 a month for Swing Elite.

Which is better for someone who cannot watch the market?

Picckles. It scans after the close and emails each trade that evening, so you place it the next morning. Trade Ideas is built to be used during the trading session.
